Batch Re-locate image (greyed out button)
I've been importing a series of images for the past month using the same import settings. Today I noticed that the import folder wasn't categorize correctly on my HD (human error), so I manually moved that folder to the correct subfolder. Now all my images are listed as "Offline" which was expected. When I try to re-locate the album or multiple images, the button is greyed out. I can re-locate individual images but there are over 800.
Any one have a solution or reason this is happening? I really don't want to individually re-locate all the images. and I've already edited a few of them so I don't want to re-import.
Using C1v20

What happened is that you broke C1's catalog. C1 is only aware of file actions that are done from within C1 and you moved the folder outside of C1. Hence, from C1's perspective, the files are all gone.
If all you did was move the entire folder, then you should be able to fix the problem by moving the folder back to its original location the same way you did originally—outside of C1.
After moving the folder back, C1 should behave as it did before. Then, from within C1, drag the folder to wherever you want it.
Alternatively, use the "Locate Image" option in the Image menu. You should be able to navigate to where the image is now and if you're lucky, I think it will update the catalog for all images in the folder. I've never had luck with that, though.

Gotcha.
Yeah I moved the folder in Finder instead of within C1. I actually didn't know you could move the folder within C1.
I moved the folder back using Finder then moved that folder to it's correct place within C1. It kind of worked. I had re-located individual image before your tip and when I moved the folder around C1 had made a duplicate folder with the images I had already re-located. It asked me if I wanted to merge folder which I said yes to, but it didn't behave correctly. Anyway, was able to figure it out.
Using the "Locate Image" for individual image did not update the catalog for all images in that folder which was a huge bummer since that's how it worked in Aperture.
Thanks for you help

I shudder to think what would happen if my hard drive failed and had to use my backup drive.

To batch locate photos, when the "locate images" is greyed out in the menu, navigate down to the directory structure (what C1 calls "Folders" in the library menu. Go the location where C1 thinks your images were, and right-click there and "locate images" won't be greyed out.
Why it is greyed out above seems like a bug or juse really bad UI design on the part of PhaseOne.

Thanks David! Yes, this is horrible UI design by Capture One. The whole point of not importing the picture into the Catalog is to be able to easily move them or have them on multiple hard drives (e.g. RAID for office work, SSD for on the go). @C1: for how its done, check out DaVinci Resolve* "Relink Media" – super easy and fast.
(*which also hasn't charged a penny for upgrading over the last 10 years...not that chraging for upgrades is inappropriate but me and many others get the feeling that with C1 for every feature you pay a 200$ upgrade price)
