Regenerate Previews not working

I use Edit With to send picture to Gimp, then edit it and overwrite the original in Gimp. The preview and main view in Capture One do not update, so I select Regenerate Previews and nothing happens. Using "Show In Explorer" selects the correct file and it is definitely the version as edited in Gimp. I tried closing and restarting Capture One - still not updated. I also tried processing the file and it is the unedited version that is output.

I am running 13.1.2.35 of Capture One for Fujifilm (not the Express version)

    Are you saving or exporting from GIMP.
    GIMP will only save as .xcf.
    You need to export from GIMP to get the tif C1 will recognize.

    I am using the overwrite original feature in Gimp, which rewrites the TIF that was generated by the Edit With command in C1. I have now worked out what was happening: the file in Gimp has two layers, the original colour layer and the new black and white one (generated by Silver Efex Pro) and C1 is always reading the bottom layer. I merge the two layers in Gimp and then overwrite original and everything now works as expected.

    The problem started after I updated both Gimp 2.10 and C1, somewhere in one of the updates the behaviour changed. I now have everything working as expected thankfully.
