Browser stacks
ImplementedThis is an old Aperture feature that was really useful. When browsing, one could select a stack mode that would group together photos according to the time elapsed between shots (1sec, 30sec, 2min, etc). Very handy for grouping burst shots or when a person or subject changes periodically during a long shoot.

I would like this too. Right now I have to store things like time lapses or or stacked series into separate folders to process them together. This stacking feature would be very nice. Especially if it could detect bursts or bracketed series automatically.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for feedback on Capture One - this is always welcomed and encouraged among our users and we appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your comments and suggestions to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board and hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.

This shows as complete but I don't see how to actually stack images beyond when I create a variant. Is there documentation on this?

“Complete” means that the ticket has been processed. It doesn’t mean that the feature has actually been implemented.

I was just about to create this feature request. I am always taking small bursts of animals and I would like to see the 'real' library of photos, edit a stack all from the current leading photo, choose the leading photo with some sort of onion skin and side by side comparison, and then a one click to purge the rejected images in a stack.

I work a lot with Panoramic Images and Sequences and I group them into subfolders. Unfortunately these are hidden in the mainfolder unless you click on them, or make special user collections.
Browser Stacks are a nice and fast visual way to group and organise your shootings in the browser.

I'm also interested in this feature as it is useful when shooting in bursts. Hopefully we'll see it in the next beta :)

+1 to this request!
The 1DX takes 20 images a second with no buffer. When out doing wildlife photography I often capture several thousand images at a time.
This feature would make working in large image libraries so much easier as you'd be able to see the actual number of shots you have to work with, and navigate between maybe a couple hundred images vs several thousand.
You could rate based on stacks, narrow down from a high-level perspective which shots are best, then go into each stack to begin reviewing individual images.

I am also still wondering what the status is of this feature request. I used to group similar images within a certain timeframe in stacks to 'declutter' my overview. In good old Aperture and Lightroom this is a top feature (accessible in the context menu and command-g and also the ungroup feature).

And besides that, also the feature to automagically see the jpg of a raw picture as variant or a grouped item. Also like in Aperture. Worked perfect.

Same like in sports, wild animal and event photography, you will end up with plenty of similar images of the motive – i guess in fashion too. Browser stacks would make culling and viewing easier.
@Lily, if the status is changed to “Completed”, are you still watching this post? "Completed” would suggest it's now included in Capture One;-)

Any news on this?
