Canon 5DSR tethering issue. Capture One 20

Hi All,

My set up, Canon 5DSR tethered to a 2012 MacBook pro (Catalina) has developed a strange behaviour. 

It will only operate in tethered mode when the cards are removed from the camera. When I put the cards back in the camera, no connection. I have a canon 5d3 which tethers with no problems. 

The camera used to work fine until a couple of months ago. Sorry I can't remember when I upgraded to Catalina. Capture One is a subscription and is updated regularly.

    Update: I get a successful tether with a single SD card and with a single CF card. No connection when I put two cards in.
