Relocate originals from catalog to NAS/other folder
Dear Community,
since a few month I use C1 and I am very happy with it, but handling is, compared to Lightroom, something I need to get used to.
Since today I worked with sessions and I already found an easy tutorial for adding sessions into a catalog, but I didn't find any solution for this problem:
I started a C1 catalog and added new photos to it (photos were directly added into the catalog file). No I want to relocate these originals to my NAS. How can I do this? I tried to copy the files, but I didn't find any way to get C1 to accept the new location of the pictures. I want to leave the catalog file on my Mac (to use Previews), but storage intensive RAWs should be located on my NAS.
So.. Any Solution?

If I understand your question correctly, it looks like you are using a managed catalog but would be better using a referenced catalog. See this: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002669977-What-is-the-difference-between-a-referenced-and-managed-catalog-

you are right, I accidentally started a managed catalog, but is there no way to get the photos out there to other folders without loosing my photo edits?

One last question: On the left side, there is "Folders". Do I need to add each folder manually? Is ist not possible to browse through the HDD or NAS directly?

Yes you can browse to existing folders - any that your system can "see".
If you use a Mac you may need to tell C1 to used the full path to system folders in order to "discover" them if they are not already listed. I'm not a Mac user but if I recall correctly the Mac System hides system folders that are not currently actively used by the C1 session or catalogue you are currently working with. Or something like that.
If you want to create a new folder then I think you would need to do that first and then follow the transfer procedure.
I would do that anyway as if seems like a safer option to avoid any unspotted typing errors in a one-step action causing confusion when a folder fails to be created as expected! Maybe too many years working with computers has made me over cautious ...

Ah okay.. I understand. But it makes sense, that not every folder is listed, because then I do not know which folder were added to the library. But there is one point I don't get: My folder structure is: Photos -> 2020 -> xxx
When I add 2020, then all the subfolders are missing and I need to add each of them manually, why?

C1 works folder by folder on the basis that then only the folder that have images you want to see in the Catalogue or session will be considered and the relevant images presented for Editing.
For a simple example, if using sessions there are default folders established for Capture (where one might send the images form a tethered shoot), Selects (the images one selects for further progression), Output (the images one produces for sharing or printing) and Trash (the current rejects).
If at the top level folder all of the sub folders were selected your active list, in the absence of some other filter, would automatically contain not just your selects but also all of the other fields including Trash and any wide range of output files you may have produced.
Personally speaking I would not want the Output folders to be selected and for pre-established output file types to be automatically made part of the session or catalogue and pre-prepared for editing.
In any event if one has brought images into a Session via a catalogue using the import process they will be "known" to the catalogue wherever they are. Which realistically makes the random inclusion of any folder that may be present in a file structure somewhat redundant.

Exactly. And what may not be obvious in SFA's statement is what counts as a relevant image. When working in a catalog images must still be imported. Capture One will not see non-imported images even when they are in folders that it knows about because of previous imports.
This is not the case when working in sessions. Navigating to a folder in Capture One is all that is necessary to see and edit images -- at least for the image types that Capture One can handle. Capture One also recognizes when a new image shows up in a folder when working in that folder.
