Auto Exposure
ImplementedWhy does the Auto Exposure feature tend to overexpose IIQ files? Does it not take into consideration every pixel in the image? Can we have more control over this by including a clipping cutoff limit? It would function just like the Highlight Exposure Warning slider under Preferences. Let's say you set the RGB limit to 253 - that means no channel of any pixel can exceed that 253 readout when Auto Exposure adjusts the slider.
This would allow for much faster batch processing of rapid capture archival 35mm slide material where slight exposure changes are needed after controlled lighting captures.

I'd like to add that overexposure doesn't occur while using the Auto Exposure or Auto Levels with an outputted uncompressed 16bit tiff from the IIQ. Why does the feature work with a tiff but not the IIQ?

Hi James,
Thank you for your post.
The Auto Exposure feature is based on the proprietary algorithm. Also, this function works not only with the IIQ files but with other file types as well.
I will forward your suggestions and comments on to the development and product management team for consideration.
