Luma mask with Hue and Sat ranges, Vectorscope, HDR mode, LUT, HSL curves
ImplementedHi. My list of things I want to see in a future updates.
1) Add the ability to luma range mask also selecting hue and saturation ranges, and based the mask on one or three of these components, or all at ones if you want. That way creating dynamic masks you can copy between images, then make adjustments with tools you want on that mask like in color grading suites.
2) We need better analysis tools, not only histogram, but also waveform and vectorscope. Also, the ability to enlarge the histogram, make it big, like for example curves tool, it would be very convenient.
3) Right now, Capture One can open and edit 32-bit float tiff files, but treat them like regular tiff files. I cannot restore a lot of shadows and highlights using exposure slider and sliders in hdr tab, even if you create layers and try to combine adjustments you cannot recover a lot, but data is here. In the not so distance future hdr files will became the standard, cameras constantly became better at capturing wide range of contrast in single exposure, also there is hdr monitors on the way. For now, we have some basic tools for hdr files, but they need to work properly on them with correct WB and wide compressing capability of tools already present inside the program. Also, would be great for the future if Capture One can support hdr monitors and have dedicated mode for them to view, process and then saves files to heif hdr format or other that became standard.
The option to create 32-bit float hdr files from raws inside Capture One would also be great.
4) A LUT tool to apply 3d lut files on images, with amount slider.
5) Make full 360 hue rotation in advanced tab of the color editor, that way you could change one color to another you choose, this would be very useful in some cases, for example in product shoots. Right now, you could do this by using multiple adjustment layers, what is not convenient and fast.
6) An option to overlaid vectorscope on the color wheel of the color editor, like histogram overlaid on curves tool, so we could see which colors we have on the image and how saturated they are.
7) Option to show numbers in color balance tool and in color editor. To see not only visual representation but also an exact amount of applied effect, that way other users can copy your corrections easily.
8) Special HSL curves, like HUE vs SAT and others, some of the functionality is replicated be color editor, but curves have soft transitions and very fast to use.
Consider this for future versions. Thanks.

Hi David,
Thank you for feedback on Capture One - this is always welcomed and encouraged among our users and we appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software.
I have forwarded your comments and suggestions on to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.
Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board and hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.
