Capture one for Fujifilm PLUS invert negatives
Hi:
What is the most affordable configuration to buy Capture One for Fujifilm, plus adding the module to invert digitized negatives? Does this include color corrections for color negatives?
I use ON1 now. I like teh dynamic contrast. Does Capture One have anything like it?
Thanks

You do not need any modules to invert an (negative) image in C1.
But since C1 is a raw file processor, what file format would you be using in C1?
You mentioned Fuji, are you shooting the negative with your camera or you digitizing it using a scanner?

Hi Rob:
I use a Fujifilm XT-2 and will process RAW images. That is one of the primary purposes of C1 for me. In addition, I scan negatives, color and B&W with the XT-2, and want to process them. I believe that C1 does have a module for this purpose. Not sure if I can add it to the Fuji only module, nor how much it would cost. Thanks for responding.0 -
What module are you referring to?
C1's Cultural Heritage edition seems to be more targeted at neg conversions but AFAIK there is nothing in it that can be transferred over to the Pro/Camera specific versions. There are manual ways of doing it:

Thanks, gb, the video was helpful. This is similar to what I do in ON1. I wanted something more geared to scanning and inverting of negatives, and I think the Cultural Heritage Edition is what I had in mind, but it sounds like it is not really part of Capture 1. I thought it was a plug-in.

Well if you just want to invert the negatives you can just invert the Levels - you drag the white indicator to black and the black indicator to white.
Presto inverted image.
Store that as a Preset and you have Inverted Negatives just one click away ;-)
Then you can make all adjustments you want! (that includes color correction, white balance, contrast adjustments - everything works as if it was just a positive :)
If you primarily work with negatives you can even set you images to automatically use the Preset and they will be inverted as soon as you import/capture them.0
