C1 13.1.1 Brush fails to be usable on picture

Hi people,

I've got a strange problem: I can't use my cursor to edit my pictures. The cursor gets stuck on the
edge of the photo. See my video on Youtube (screen cap).
It does not matter what input device I use: mouse and Wacom react the same.

I have tried to downgrade C1 tot 13.1.0 from 13.1.1 but nothing helped.
The Mac has got 6 GB of free RAM still (though Swap is used). 

Please help me out. I can't edit my pictures!

    Does it matter if you change to a different kind of brush or the hand tool?  I assume you are working on a layer.  What kind of layer?

    Did you try the the latest version (13.1.2)?

    Which macOS? Specs of the Mac?

    Any programs installed, which should give a delay/resistance for the cursor when crossing window edges?

    I am sorry, I had to be more specific. 

    I run an Imac (2017) with an i7 4.3 Ghz.
    24GB Ram and 8gb GPU. 

    The problems began a while ago. But restarting the Mac fixes the problem for a while.
    My 5 year old MBP pro does not have any problems what so ever. Yes it is slower, but
    I do not encounter any problems like I mentioned on the iMac.

    I run Catalina for 2 day now. Since it is my work horse I used Mojave all the time.
    But the problems were there with Mojave too.

    It feels like it is a memory hog, but how can that be with 24gb installed? 
    My MBP 2015 has got 16GB ram. 

    @Marco Hyman: no, all the brushes etc have the same problem. It seems like C1 blocks the photos to be edited.

     

    ps: I ran the latest C1 version, than downgraded to see if that is te problem. does not help.
    Cleared caches also.

    I really don't hope a fresh install will be the only solution to this problem. That would be very inconvenient.

    Ferdi you seem to have a lot of System add-ons in your top bar, As a test, copy your session or catalog to an external device if not already, create a new admin user and switch to that user. Launch C1 accept all the welcome etc screens and then copy your file back to your drive and open it.

    If everything is OK with your brush it will indicate that one or more of your add-ons are causing problems and may have to be upgraded or deleted. It's very easy with multiple systems over the years to drag along outdated extensions and other things that can cause problems.

    Also - and it's a big one - you don't use any system cleaner applications do you? A lot of these can unintentionally cause more problems than what they solve. Maybe some of these tests will negate the need for a fresh System install although that painful route is a good way to go if you have the time and patience.
