image processing - embeded camera profile
When I process out an image and have in the process recipe under ICC profile -embed camera profile, often the images will process out with Adobe 98 instead of the camera profile. I want a large color space and was adviced to use embed camera profile since this is larger than adobe 98. Periodically it will process the image out with the camera profile but often just revert to adobe98. How can I make sure it processes the image out in the designated icc profile?
Thank you

Hi Frank,
I am not sure "embedded camera profile" would be the best, as it is not clearly defined. I d'rather suggest to use a large and well known colour space, such as Prophoto RGB. In that case, your trouble would probably disappear.

What is the purpose of your output file Frank?

The purpose of outputting the file with embedded camera profile is just to bring the file into PS to further work on. Talking to my dealer DT here in NY it was recommended to output in embed camera profile to have the largest color depth/space besides going with Prophoto RGB.

So are you creating a PSD file?
Maybe ask DT what you should expect to see?

Just a regular tiff but it could be psd file for that matter. My question is why C1 doesn't process out the designated ICC profile consistently? My example is "embed camera profile" since that is the one that doesn't always work and gets reverted to adobe 98.

have not seen this issue but you should consider that camera LUT .icc profiles are not intended to be used as work space profiles for image editing ! ACES oder Prophoto are the better option but when your images don't contain high saturated ( artificial ) colors they are not really needed anyway and adobe or ECI rgb are the better option.
