Camera Focus Tool crashing C1 20.1.3 every time

When trying to add the Camera focus tool to any pane or as a floating tool, the selection of the tool instantly crashes C1 every time. I'm running 20.1.3 on a 16" MBP running 10.15.7. Any one have any work arounds or fixes? Works just fine in 12.1.5 on the same laptop.

    I added the Camera focus tool as a floating tool, selected it without any issues.  But then I don't use any tethered camera.

    What model of tethered camera is normally connected? Was it connected and on when this problem occurred?
