Have you contacted support about this? I have never had to restart my computer just because I installed a Capture One update, and I have been using it since version 4.1.

    Hi Jean,

    Thank you for the post.

There are several similar requests on the automatic update process.

I will forward your comments to the product management team as well.

I would echo Ian Wilson's comment.

There may be situations in which a particular computer would benefit in some way from a reboot - if for no other reason that is gets an opportunity to tidy up orphaned workfiles and refresh memory, etc.

I have never found it to be necessary but as general guidance I cannot see a problem with the suggestion.

In other words, if you do not reboot and something seems to be not working correctly, then try a reboot first rather than contacting support. Other software not updated and not restarted after the C1 update might cause issues in some cases. A reboot is the simplest suggestion to avoid such a situation more often than not.

But for those of who think it unnecessary under normal conditions, just don't bother if everything works without it.

Thanks for your answers. I already had the issue with previous update. I'm also well aware that rebooting can still do wonders when it come to issues like this. It's just that I've lost the habbit, assuming I ever acquired it.
