Read-Only Error

Hi

I recently imported a Lightroom catalogue into Capture one 20.

All sliders are greayed out and I get an error "Could not create layer. "_X1A6981": the image is read-only."

Really infuriating start to my transition from Lightroom.

 

Please advise.

    Sounds like C1 may not yet have finished generating previews. Preview generation can take a LONG time, depending on how many images you have and whether they're stored on HDD or SSD (and how fast the storage buss is).

    If this is happing with MANY images, the first thing I'd suggest is to give C1 more time. When I first converted to C1 years ago (from Apple Aperture, with files stored on HDD), it took C1 more than 24 hours to generate all the previews. Things are much faster now, but it still takes C1 a while to go through tens of thousands of images.

    If the problem is happening with only some images, try forcing C1 to regenerate previews for those images.

    In addition, there is a possibility that the profile/size of your image doesn't comply with Capture One requirements. The colour space should be RGB (and not grey scale) and the edges above 512 pixels.
