Can’t Get True Black with icc Profile Using Capture One with X-Rite Colorchecker Passport 2
I’m unable to get true black with Fujifilm icc profile produced with X-Rite Colorchecker Passport 2. My RGB numbers for black are close to 40,40,40 which looks like a dark gray. I’ve googled this and several others are having similar results. What gives? Is it my X-Rite device, Fujifilm X-T2 camera, Capture One, or the operator which is me?

Did you use monitor calibrator?

Yes, I used my X-Rite i1 Photo Pro 2 spectrophotometer to calibrate monitor less than 1 month ago.

I'm repeating my input icc development process to see if was my fault. I probably should done this before posting my intial comment. I will update with my subsequent results.

profiling c1 is not an easy task because of the ancient color / fimcurve pipeline. the x rite software comes with its own problems. if you are serious you should have a look at Lumariver profile designer but even with this sophisticated software you will run into issues......

My results are better now and my Colorchecker profile is so close the Capture One generic profile for my camera that it looks like they used Colorchecker to produce their profiles.
