Want to warn about this error, maybe Windows related, maybe general

The following response from Nov 7, 2020, was given to a number of tickets (now merged, they are always merged when the headlines are too unpleasant to show publicly). In those tickets I documented loss of earlier adjustments (apparently mask related), it was typically healing and cloning layers turning up empty the following day, but also color tagging that disappeared:

A CAPTURE ONE RESPONDER:
"There was a bug due to which masks could be lost, however it was fixed in one of the recent releases.
You should have an error in Event Log saying mask was lost and replaced by a new, empty one.
Even though it was fixed, if you're using a document or an image edited with the version where bug existed – you can still get this message.
Please, create a new Session or Catalog and import images without adjustments."

ME:
Capture One has to release a bulleting explaining this SERIOUS PROBLEM CAUSED BY AN ERROR IN THE SOFTWARE and describe the easiest work around to recover earlier adjustments. Also clearly state, if this is a Windows phenomenon exclusively, or if it has reset months of editing for the MAC flock too? Can adjustments saved as presets be reused in this case? is a very interesting question. Otherwise the consequence is that all editing from months ago has to be redone. To my knowledge adjustments can't be saved into presets in a batch process, so the manual re-editing process represents a CATASTROPHY!
