Capture 20 doesn't accept new preorder key
Error message is: "Permanent key cannot be used"
Deleted the program, downloaded and installed it again, same error message. I will definetely never preorder anything again.

Which sort of license key did you have for V20?
You need to be aware that to make formal contact with Capture One Support you should use the "Submit a request"option that can be found on most Support Pages, This is a User to User forum rather than a support portal forum.
The error message seems strange.
You did not need to delete the program.
Did you follow the guidance to manage your activations and de-active the previous activation before adding the new activation code?
