Opening free trial issues

So I did the steps to download free trial, received/entered code and all that.  All looked good until actual opening of the program.  "Capture One Unexpectedly Stopped". Report sent to Apple pop up and all.  Tried for a few hours adjusting and trying to figure.  Called it a night.  Next morning trashed everything and downloaded Google Chrome thinking maybe Capture didnt like Safari.  Same process and same results.  Downloads, shows but fails to open.  Disappointing and confused.  Will keep researching reasons and other ways to edit RAW photos.  The Mac I have has needed update and storage.  Any ideas welcome
