Clarifications on new more restrictive '1-seat' licensing and need to frequently re-activate?
There is some debate over new licensing policies. My understanding is that if I purchase C1 for Nikon that it may be activated on only 1 machine at a time. E.G., unlike Adobe and I think every app I own, I cannot have it activated on multiple machines so long as I only use it on one machine at a time. The latter is typically what 1-seat means - 1 concurrent user but may be installed/activated on many machines.
So, each time I go from my laptop in my studio to my imac in my office I must de-activate on the laptop and re-activate on my imac. FWIW, like most photographers I may do this 10 or more times per day so that's a lot of extra work to de-activate + re-activate each time.
If I need to do this in the middle of a tethered session (which occasionally happens if some detail needs to be checked on a larger display or against another image) - what happens to the tethered session? Do I have to kill that session and go through setting up a new session each time?
Similarly, if a photographer is in a café with their laptop but their C1 license is currently activated on their desktop (which is in an empty office because the photog is away in a café). They will need to activate C1 in order to use it?
What if they have poor or no internet connection (which happens frequently in rural areas where many location shoots are conducted) - will they not be able to activate it?
Even if they do have good internet will they be able to remotely de-activate C1 on their desktop in order to activate it on their laptop?

so when I see the need to buy another licence for my studio I will end up with the same software but with different activation numbers ... insane, no ?
this is clearly the brainchild of an accountant and it is a shame that they are able to talk a half hour about their sad version of dehaze and say not one word of the biggest change for new customer or clarify the situation . lets see how their massage control will work when more new user will recognise this scam after release. seems also a perfect timing when you have not much to offer but the most funny part for me is that all devotees who worked hard to tell everybody that adobe is the manifestation of pure corporate evil have now to spent extra time to argue for the rip off....
