If you want to move a whole session, the simplest thing is to move it outside Capture One. With Capture One closed, just move the whole session folder with all its subfolders to the new location. Then in Capture One, go to File>Open, and navigate to the session file in its new location.

If you are in any doubt about that process, a simple thing to try is to create a very small test session with a handful of images that you don't care about. Then move it as described, and try out opening it from the new location. That would give you confidence in the process.

As to "relative to session" and "relative to document", in Capture One speak, a document is a session or a catalog as the case may be. So relative to document should be the same thing as relative to session. The nomenclature may have changed from one version to another at some stage.

Ian, thank you for sorting out the nomenclature bit. And thank you for the simple instruction. I'll give this a go :-)

    Rachel,

    Ian is totally correct.

I move sessions all the time and so long as the images are stored within the session folder structure you can just copy (or move) the top folder and everything goes with it. I usually copy first, check the copy has worked successfully and the delete to the now redundant session form the place where space needs to be free up.

One exception to consider is if you have any sessions that have Favuorite folders that are outside the Session folder structure.

If you will be leaving them where they are then all should be well.

If you need to move them as part of the space creation the Session copy will not do that if they are not part of the folder structure. So IF you have that requirement you will be looking at either moving those Image containing folders first from within C1 and then copying the session which will have the new links OR move the Session and then move the image folders and reconnect them so the now moved session as Favourite folders.

You would want to copy the Images folder complete with its subfolders.
