Nikon D5 Tethering problems
We have a Nikon D5 that we are shooting tethered via USB 3 to a Mac Pro 2013. We shooting directly into Capture one. Sometimes the camera is recognized and sometimes not. We have a D850 that we use with the same set up that works fine. Has anyone else had issues with this camera?
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7
Mac Pro (Late 2013), 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 with 64GB Memory
Capture One 13.1.3.9

That sounds like a hardware or cable or connection problem. Try another USB cable if possible, and make sure the connections at both ends of the cable are secure. Especially make sure there is no strain on the cable connection to the camera.

Did you make sure that there are NO CARDS in the camera?

I have this same problem. My D850 works fine, my D5 does not. Same settings, no card, etc. Interestingly, C1 "sees' the camera because it can trigger it, but no images transfer to the laptop.
