Process Recipe export creation date without camera info
I would like to export photos to Flickr with only a subset of metadata. I don't want to share all the exif data. I'm happy with exif location but I need capture time. I'm happy sharing all the IPTC information.
However, Capture One doesn't seem to provide enough control to support this. Unticking Camera Metadata doesn't export capture time when I believe it could via IPTC.
Capture time is essential for Flickr as my photos will be ordered by Capture One export date / time which is pretty irrelevant.
Options as I see it:
- Somehow configure Capture One to auto populate the IPTC Date Created field based on the exif date created. (this might be achievable?)
- Somehow configure Capture One to export specific subsets of exif data (I don't think this is achievable)
- Run an exiftool script after export that strips out all the metadata stuff I don't want to share with Flickr. This is obviously possible, but I'm disappointed if this is the only Capture One option.
- Admit that CaptureOne isn't a very extensible and configurable cataloguing tool and use it purely for editing which it shines at, and go back to Lightroom for cataloguing.
Can anyone else recommend any other solutions?
Regarding switching my cataloguing solution, I notice this functionality is in Lightroom Classic:
If you’d like to exclude the Camera Raw info AND also exclude the EXIF metadata, then you’ll want to choose the next option labeled, All Except Camera & Camera Raw Info. Both of these options will include things like keywords, title, caption, star rating, color labels. It does also include the capture data/time, but excludes camera settings and camera make/model.
