Mac freezes and keyboard shortcuts not working

Just purchased capture one pro, it continually stops working on my iMac, forcing a reboot.
Also when i use the shortcut to invert a mask from the drop down menu its closes the image I am working on and opens a new one.

So far this is probably the worst investment I have made in software.

Any ideas from any users.
