DNG Distortion Correction issue (Opcode ID1: WarpRectilinear)
Capture One seems to honour the "WarpRectilinear" Opcode in DNG files, however there might be a bug in how it is applied:
- Sony ARW File: Distortion correction working (of course) correctly in CaptureOne. Lens Correction Pane shows "Manufacturer Profile" selected with 100% distortion correction value
- ACR 4.6 DNG File: Distortion Correction "baked in" into image and also working correctly. Lens Correction Pane shows "Generic" profile selected with a distortion correction value of 0. This is correct (since correction is "baked in") and gives identical results to the ARW
- ACR 5.4 (and above) DNG File: Distortion Correction data is included in OpcodeList3 using Opcode ID1 "WarpRectilinear". Distortion Correction not working correctly. Correction is applied using the "Manufacturer Profile" as a default (hence, I assume opcode is recognized) but results cannot be matched to the original ARW file, no matter to which value correction is set
- ACR 5.4 (and above) DNG File with stripped OpcodeList3: If the OpcodeList3 is removed from the image before importing, the (otherwise identical file) is displayed without any distortion correction at all, showing "Generic" profile with value 0. There is no manufacturer profile to select (which seems to confirm that Opcodes are recognized if present)
Took some time to investigate, now I hope to get an explanation ;-) Thanks! Mentioned files can of course be submitted.

Interesting observations Mathias.
I guess this will be something to do with the multiple DNG standards that exist.
It may explain to some extent why the DNG files from my 6 year old mobile phone are editable as RAW files in C1 (not that I would usually bother to do so) and the DNG files from my recently acquired new phone (released in late 2020) have no camera settings related EXIF data other than the name of the manufacturer, model, file pixel dimensions, date, and software.
The result is that, absent any lens and exposure information, some rather necessary activities - like Noise Reduction - simply can't work at all.
In my case that is not of much concern since I doubt I would be editing any of the files and I'll leave the processing to the camera and whatever it chooses to do with its jpgs on those occasions where using the phone's cameras is a viable option of some sort.
However ....
As this is a User to User forum and your investigation is about a more significant concern than is my phone, I would suggest you contact the C1 Support team via the "Official" case system using the "Submit a request" link in order to create a Support Case for further investigation.
