Can't activate Capture One 21
Hi,
Am I the only getting error when trying to activate capture One 21 Subscription ?

The activation server was quite busy, as usual after a major upgrade. Maybe try again today.
Also, check for antivirus and firewall software not getting in the way of connecting to the activation server. If all fails, contact support.

I desactivated Microsoft Firewall and antivirus in W10 but the same error remains.
Because the error message says can't resolve "activation.phase.one" I checked IP with NSLOOKUP
What is the "activation.phase.one" IP on your side ?

Same here in the UK - Been s subscriber since the start and i'n not impressed at all. Have reached out to C1 on Twitter and FB with no response. Safe to say that I am far from happy with the service from C1. Tim (timwoodphoto.co.uk)

This appears to be affecting many updaters from C20 including me and with no replies/fixes from Capture One I am at the point of binning this off and going elsewhere. Where are they when things go wrong a straightforward answer to everyone affected by this is all that is required and all we get is silence.

Maybe their servers has been overloaded or worst attacked by hackers.
My laptop had the same problem but suddenly the key has been accepted.
Regarding the small amount of change from C1 2020 to C1 2021 I could wait but the problem is because I migrated my library to C1 2021 now I cannot open it in C1 2020 anymore on my main desktop.
The last release of LR is slower as the previous one, I will not comeback

Exactly same thing happening to me when I try too retrieve my profile - & as I faithfully uninstalled 20, I now can't go back to it!
Any fix/help much appreciated!!!

I tried using VPN to simulate registration from different location but this does not solve the problem. Capture One support remains silent.

This article relates to a similar problem on WIn7.
The values required in the article are not set in Win 7 by default. But that should be set in Win 10 by default. However they may not be.
That said the error message is different for those 2 diaqnostic tests.
I am a little surprised the process is looking for a phaseone url. I would have expected use of the captureone url.
You could try using a different browser or deleting existing cookies in the current browser that relate to phaseone and/or captureone. Just in case something stored is being used and interfering with the process.
For support you need to create a Support Case if there is no useful document in the FAQ or Community sections.
If that is what you did you should have an email and a reference number. I would suggest communicating using that option as it is the route for formal personal responses.
However, as ever the case for new releases and especially the annual major release at this time of year, the number of requests for assistance tends to increase to potentially overwhelming levels so responses, especially useful responses, may not be rapid.
Another option is to go for the Manual Activation method to get things running and then seek resolution of the on-line method later.

- I already opened a ticket several days ago and I do not get any anwser until now.
- I use WIN10 last release and C1 registration doesn't go thru an internet browser but use its own Capture One registration form window
- Manual registration does not work for user with monthly / annual subscription.
So I'm stuck.

Even if using Win 10 there is the potential that the required settings are not set for some reason.
However that may be nothing to do with your situation.
The registration window is presented through a Browser - or at least it is on my system.
I have no idea how subscriptions work. I am just a fellow user.
Were you already using Capture One or is this a new purchase for you?
I have checked as suggested in this document and the links indicate that the required service mentioned in your Diagnostic window (activation.phaseone.com or activation.captureone.com) is active and available.
If you have not already created a Support Case I would recommend you do so.

Capture One 21 Activation works !!!
I redirect activation.phaseone.com to activation.captureone.com and it works !
In windows I had to modified my host file with administrator privilege. ( windows\system32\drivers\etc )
I had to add this line at the end the host file :23.38.170.202 activation.phaseone.com
From here it seems the problem come from Akamai services wrong DNS configuration
anyway I hope this post can help someone else
