Anything change with tethered feature in CP21? Desperately hope so...
I have a Nikon Z7 and shoot tethered to an Apple laptop. I have CP20 and there is no ability in CP20 to shoot images to the Z7's in-camera card and to the computer hard drive at the same time, something I want to do for instant back-up purposes.
Does the new CP21 have the ability to do this?
I've put forth this as a request as pretty much every photographer I know who uses CP wants this feature, I mean, why would a photographer not want this instant back-up safety net facility and why don't CP simply implement it?
From what I can gather, with CP20 there is no easy way of having an instant back-up when tethering, not without having some expensive external hard drive array, an add-on third party piece of software and a degree in computer programming to set it up, even then it does not back-up with each shot like the aforementioned simple method would.
Now I have a Z7, which only has one card slot this is more important to me than ever, before I would avoid tethering and just shoot to the two cards in my old EOS 5D MK4. Now I'm all out of solutions, at least a simple one.

I think that's because Nikon does not support this option.
A few manufacturers do support his option with some of their cameras but it's not something that CaptureOne can fix.
Nikon would have to make this possible in the first place.0 -
Canon don't support it either. No camera on the planet works with CP One Pro 20 in that you can record images to the camera's card/cards at the same time as recording the images to the laptop (you are tethered to) hard drive.

That's not true.
Fuji does and unless I'm mistaken Sony does too.
That came as quite a surprise to me when I was shooting tethered for a magazine and the next day my memory cards were full of the images I had shot the day before.
So yes, Capture One has the ability to do so, but not every camera supports it.0 -
I had an EOS 5D MK4 and with C1 Pro 20 you could not shoot to cards in camera and computer hd at same time, same with Nikon Z7.
Anyway, back to original question, if I upgrade to 21 will it work and do what I need it to?

Well unless you see that option in the Tethering settings in Capture One (Camera Settings tool) it doesn't work with your camera.
You can download the trail version and check whether it's there with version 21 but I doubt it, since it has not been mentioned in the release notes.0 -
Will check camera settings when I boot it up shorty.
