It is difficult to know without seeing what you see under your account page, but if you have a free upgrade then I think you just download C1 21, install it and enter the activation code you already have. You can find your activation code under your account on the C1 website. Not sure how many activations you are allowed as I have a different version but if it is more than one then you should be able to install a parallel copy (if you install to another directory), then uninstall 20 once you are happy you are up and running. If you are only allowed one activation at one time then you could still install in parallel but you will have to go into C1 20, deactivate it and then activate the C1 21 version, if you need to go back to C1 20 the you have only to deactivate C1 21 and activate C1 20. At least then you have a way back if something goes wrong.

Note that when you upgrade make sure you create a backup of your C1 20 catalogue/session before you start C1 21 for the first time. The catalogue /session gets upgraded when you load it into C1 21 and the catalogue will then not be backward compatible with C1 20.

If you have a free upgrade (when did you obtain your license? Is it a perpetual license or a subscription) then you should be able to download and install the update and carry on running.

You may need to de-activate V20 before you can activate V21 on the same computer although if your activation license was of the V21 type that allowed you to run V20 until V21 was released there may be a different process possible.

If you are looking at upgrade information in your account but already have a free update to V21 you may be seeing the number of upgrade to the "Any camera" version rather than the restricted (for Sony) version you already have.
