Capture One Pro 20 stopped working after pre-purchase of C21 subscription
Capture One 20 stopped working in the middle of a project. I had purchased the pre-release of C21 as a subscription, while maintaining my current permanent license for C20 Pro. The software stopped working without warning, indicating it could not verify the license code. I received no instructions or new license code from FastSpring or Capture One. This is a very poor experience, and I am still waiting for Capture One to respond. Being forced out of using a product I have paid for with a permanent license is unacceptable.

Hi Michael,
When you purchased Capture One 21, you should have received a new license code which should be used with Capture One 20 once you have pre-ordered. If not, you can visit your personal account, where you should find your orders history with the relevant licenses.

Hi Michael
I had a similar experience. Having pre-ordered and paid for the 21 upgrade, I continued using 20 with my perpetual licence pending release. Tonight I tried to open Capture One and was obliged to go through an activation process. Now I discover that I have forsaken the perpetual licence and my annual subscription to 21 is clocking up time, while the upgrade is not available. Astonished that Capture One didn't anticipate for customers - my first unfortunate experience with them. It leaves a bad taste.

Hi Patrick,
Agreed. I've purchased upgrades since version 9 and have overall been satisfied with the software and upgrades. I'm not one to spend much time on community forums or post comments, but the decline in support noted since their break-away from Phase One and this notable shift as Capture One attempts to convert all of us to a subscription model is more than bothersome and I thought I should make my experience known to others. Unfortunately, as long as consumers continue to pay it is likely what we can expect from them going forward. It makes me regret purchasing a subscription - rather choose my upgrades and preserve the only leverage a customer has.

If you go into your Capture One account at captureone.com, then click on Manage licenses, the click Capture One Pro (subsciption license), your license ley should be there for you to copy and paste as needed.
