    gb,

"Open with" is a command option to open the files directly in whatever application is chosen. It bypasses Capture One entirely. Hence what you have observed.

From what you wrote I think you need "edit with".

    Thanks SFA.

As I said though "edit with" works but I loose raw/dng workflow.

Looking at tiffs for a moment...
If in C1 I "open with Photoshop" say five tiff files, I get five images open in PS.
If in C1 I "open with Helicon Focus" the same five files, I get five HeliconFocus.exe processes running with only one file open in each.

I would assume that is something that reflects the differences between the way PS is designed and works compared to Helicon Focus.

Does HF provide a facility to open multiple files all handled by the same process if is is run autonomously without being started via an external application?

Are you running HF through the dedicated plugin?

SFA I think you are right, this seems to be a basic Windows limitation with PS being an exception.

Selecting more than one file (of any type, tiff, txt, log etc) with Windows Explorer and then right clicking or Shift/right clicking rarely brings up any other "open with option" in the context menu. Anything that does come up either opens multiple processes or just opens a program with the program looking at the folder where those files are.
Compare this to right clicking a single file where "Open with" is almost always available.

HF is designed for multiple files of course and opening HF on it's own allows you to open as many files as you like in the one process.

Think I might drop this quest and just start in HF.
