    hw acceleration has been the archilles heel of c1 for years and for whatever reason it seems they are unable to fix it for good, my guess is that c1 is not developed following apple developing guidelines like metal.

    Try LR. Sadly CO is not about speed, it’s all about RAW conversion ;)

    Hi Kevin, using a similar HW configuration from 2017 with a Radeon Pro 580 8GB i don't experience such problems. I recommend to submit a support request. See top right corner of this screen. Regards, Peter.

    • My machine: iMac Retina 5k 27" Mid 2020 3,8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7, 72 GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB;
    • CO21 behavior when using any kind of preset (defaults, customs) is the same as described: flashing when hovering from one preset to the next, followed by ugly black and/or weird colored artifacts for ca. half a second :-(

    My support request:

    Peter, Thomas, thanks for the info on your systems.  I've had no luck with mine, so far, with CO.  I've submitted a report to the support team, but have received very slow response.  I'll give them the benefit of the doubt over the holidays, but hoping for better support now that holidays are over.  It's looking like CO is simply not compatible with the mid 2020 iMac for whatever reason (my issues are with or without HW Acceleration enabled).  I'm seeing no such problems with On1 Photo Raw or Apple Photos.  Thomas, If I hear anything, I will let you know.

    Keven, I use the same machine and had lots of issues. It turned out that at least mine are not system specific. Everything was much better (not perfect) if I don't use / activate a paper ICC. I also have to make sure that if I use the selected recipe that this also is not using a paper ICC.

    It's definitively a CO21 issue! I've applied the same filter presets on the same sample of images (TIFF) with version CO20, and there isn't any kind of flashing, lagging or artifacts.

    While hovering fast-paced over the listed presets every single preview is displayed instantaneously by the preview pane of CO20.

    Frank, Andy, Thanks for the input.  I tried turning the profiles off - no luck.  For me, it's not so much being slow, it's the erratic, jerky behaviors with the sliders, with extreme exposure shifts flashing back and forth and the large black artifacts flashing on screen.  I sent the support team some video captures, but it's been three weeks now with no help whatsoever.  Not impressed with CO support at all.  I've downloaded trials of On1 Photo Raw and Exposure X6. Neither of those, (nor Apple Photos) have any problem on my system.  Capture One is the only one.
