2 Licences or is there a workaround for system changes
Hi there,
after i switched my camera gear from Sony to Nikon, i also did a switch from Lightroom to Capture One.
So far it works pretty good for me and i´m really happy about this procedure.
I imported my old lightroom catalog to C1 and now this is my question and my dissatisfaction.
Photos and crops have been copied to C1, but the adjustments and other data from the old catalog aren´t.
So there are only the cropped "raw" photos in my C1 cataloge.
And because of my Nikon licence i can´t edit or change anything on pictures from my old catalog.
Is there no way to get the "old" stuff re-edited. I don´t want to by a multi license oder additional sony licence because i don´t have this camera gear any more. Is there a solution for this?

I think there used to be a nice help document about what does and doesn't get transferred when importing a LR catalog into C1. I recall that cropping and metadata are pretty much what gets copies. Adjustments aren't copied, in part because the algorithms used by the 2 programs are different. I assume that the same would be true if LR had a way of importing C1 catalogs.
If you want to keep the "as-edited in LR" images in your C1 library, you need to export the processed versions from LR (use TIFF, not JPEG) and then import those into C1. Or you could keep LR around for the edits, recognizing that after your subscription ends you'll still be able to launch and view the LR versions unless you're using a very old version like LR6.
I'm not sure, though, whether the Nikon version can edit TIFFs. You may need to upgrade to a full Pro license.
