Collections across catalogs?

FirstName LastName

I'm new to C1 and have imported old images in year catalogs i.e. 2018, 2019 etc. I would like to be able to have a collection, say 'Trees', which draws on images from all my catalogs but think this is not possible. Does anyone know of a way? Many thanks in anticipation.

    This is not possible in C1 if the images span multiple catalogues. Most importantly is your key wording, which ideally, should be embedded. I strongly suggest looking at Photo Mechanic Plus (as I have done) as it is the perfect companion to C1 with this regard

    Thanks for your response. I have downloaded PMP but cannot find anywhere how to import (ingest) my 20,000 images and leave them in situ without copying them again. Or does one ‘copy’ as PMP says then delete the files elsewhere? I’d be grateful for your thoughts.
