HEIC, HEIF, .hif files

In CO 21 when I load a folder of both jpeg's and .hif files (shot on canon 1DX III in "HDR PQ" mode) the .hif files are there in Photo Mechanic but when I open the same folder in CO 21 only the JPEG files are present. What's the solution, are they supported, is it just a settings issue..? thx

  I wanted to test this but were not able to do this yet. What I think that the issue here is, is that Capture One 21 supports 8-bit HEIF type of files, while the Canon 1DXIII create 10-bit HEIF files. These are not supported.

  I say this without formal confirmation from Capture One support, so please ask them to confirm/deny and let us know, because more people will run into this.

  ok, well--are there plans to add the 2 extra bits to become 10 bit capable, lol?!

  This is still exciting because Samsung S20 heic saves photos with 32bit color depth. I assume that this is the reason for a bug in CP21. Every portrait photo is imported and after that when viewing in CP21 the error message comes: Proxy Creation Failed
  As I said only for portrait photos :-(
