Catalog upgrade issue to C1/21

I downloaded the C1/21 trial and need to upgrade my catalog.

Now it automatically starts generating previews. Is that really needed?  They are already created in my Version C1/20...(same preview resolution)

I have thousands of pictures in my catalog and this will take hours...

    Same here C1/21. I left it generating previews overnight was just finishing this morning (10 + hours for 20K images preview size 3840px

    However throughout today it has kept starting the generation process all over again!

     

    I too had mine created  same preview size in C1/20  !!

    FWIW I'm on Win10 not a Mac
