When Operational Features Are Changed, Include Option to Toggle On/Off

As mentioned elsewhere the idea of toggling adds a lot of complexity to may aspects of development and a whole lot of hours to achieved thorough testing of all combinations.

If selected and fixed as part of a setup process mass toggling of features may be acceptable.

The Sync'd option for layers would only be reliable if enforced and restricted layer naming (or some form of unique identification) was required. The previous method did no "Sync" it replaced. People objected to that.

One could do Sync with fully automatic decision making in some situations but not all.

If an "impossible to decide how to process" situation arose the use could be asked what to do.

That would be fine for one or two files. Not so good for anyone trying to process a few hundred or a few thousand image edits. How would one best deal with that?

And then there are Styles ...

    Fair enough...

Firstly, the amount of hours necessary to achieve thorough testing...

I've been around C1 since Capture 5... and while I applaud C1 for getting their QC shit together, it never seemed to be an issue before to put out a "tested" release that included many, many bugs and inconsistencies.

    Secondly...

Since we now have the ability to choose whether composition adjustments are automatically included when copying adjustments or not, couldn't the same be done for layers, for styles, etc...?

the stacking of layers is indeed a bug, imho... Copy/paste adjustments should exclude layers by default.

I find myself correcting large batches of images with double/triple duplicated stacked layers.

With this behavior, I have to put the layer adjustments at the end of my workflow and be very awake when I apply them to other layers.

It's only a bug if the app isn't working as it has been designed to do. There was a deliberate design change to implement this behaviour, which makes it a feature not a bug.

Maybe a feature you don't like, of course...

Ok, fair enough, i don't like that feature.

It's slowing me down and costing me valuable hours.
