what is a perpetual license

Can I download capture one 21 using my capture one 20 perpetual license? if not why should I buy a perpetual license?

    A perpetual license allows you to use that specific version of the software for as long as you want with no other fees. and usually provides free updates for that version.

    It does not provide free access to future versions.

    In you case, keep using 20 for as long as you like. If you want to upgrade to 21, pay the price.

    A perpetual license is a license for a specific version of Capture One where you pay once and can then use that version in perpetuity.   The license is version specific.  A license for Capture One 20 will not work for Capture One 21.

    Your options with Capture One are to buy a perpetual license or use a subscription. The advantage of a perpetual license is you pay once.  The disadvantage is you don't get access to new versions of the software. The advantage of a subscription is you always have access to the latest greatest version.  The disadvantage is monthly payments.

    Which one you should buy depends upon many factors.  Only you can decide which is better for you.
