They won't say in advance when support for these cameras will come, but they have said that it will.

Unless something has changed very recently, the "support" from Lightroom is not what it seems. This video is interesting in that respect. https://youtu.be/Lfp0ozadQvc

Double posting sure helps, it's like honking in your car. Get's respect and attention all the time. I also really like the phrase "do not provide the support already".

Some random thoughts as a professional developer myself and a user who is effected (I have a Z 7 II).

    - there are workarounds for now, like using Adobe DNG converter or the Nikon tooolset itself.

    - The Z7 II is out for barely a week.

    - I would really be surprised if phaseone is getting any free, advanced cameras from any of the companies, so they have to order, wait in line etc. So if they are lucky, they have a Z 7 II for a week, and a Z 6 II for a month.

    - they were in the middle of a major upgrade cycle. Adding camera support, no matter how much i want it, is probably not the highest priority for them in the moment.

    - I appreciate if they actually get a camera and do a better job tha adobe. While that workaround "works", the "raw to dng" conversion is bad. As it is always with their converters. So yes, they were faster (they probably just added the new name and treat the Z6 the same as the Z6 II), but the quality of their conversion is not very good.

While I would love phaseone to be able to just do it all and get all the code done when I buy my new shiny toy, they are a small company. And they don't get preferential treatment by the likes of Nikon and Canon. So i need to cut them some slack, and don't behave like a typical white people problem person.

So cut them some slack, and, actually use this as it is supposed to be used. as a user 2 user forum. And your request belongs in the feature request forum.

    Ian/Frank,

Thanks for your comments.  But if either of you really care, my duplicate posting was an error on my part.  So I apologize if I violated any protocol or etiquette here.  In fact after I completed the first post, I realized it was in the wrong forum.  I then logged in a couple of hours later and clicked on the link for the Feature Request Forum, and re-posted it.  I am not sure why it wound up in the User Forum a second time.

That being said, I don't need to be lectured on how Phase One or any software company conducts their development process.  I am a retired developer myself so I am aware of the procedures involved.

Lastly, I am aware of the workarounds, but that's not the point nor is it an ideal solution.  Secondly, If you do some research you will find several Exif editing tools that will allow you to modify the metadata so Capture One will import raw files from a Z6II or Z7II in the interim until Phase One provides an update.  It's simply a minor change to the Camera ID.  Once you do that the issue is resolved.

So, I respectfully ask that you both cut me some slack regarding what apparently is a big issue to you both.
