unable to import RAW files

The Import process is slightly changed in V21. The images to be imported need to to be ticked. There is a select all tick box that need to be ticked to be able to "Import All".

So, just for completeness of understanding, is this a box you have ticked before attempting "import all"?

    Hi there,

yes, "import all" has been ticked.

It seems though (as I found out now), that I have to wait for just 2-5 minutes. Then the images appear and can be imported.

Overall, whatever I am doing, it seems to be very very slow (error-like slow - I have a very fast up2date computer). .

Eg when I try to modify a file, it takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute, before I can change anything (eg change a slider). Once the change is beeing applied (after 30 sec - 1 minute), I can work with the file smoothly.

When trying to change another image: same thing happens: I have to wait up to one minute before the file seems to be kind of "ready for modification". Then all changes are applied in real time.

I have really no clue what to do

But to work on 20 images takes me about 1 hour, and most of the time I am waiting.

In regard to your 2 to 5 minute wait for import - do you have "Check for duplicates" enabled?

The rest of your performance issues seem very unusual.

Have you tried opening the Activities Windows to see if it reports anything of interest?

I would also suggest taking a look at the Log files (if you are inclined to read and interpret log files) to see what sort of clues they may offer.

"Check for duplicates" is enabled; it doesn't change the speed when disabling it.

in the task manager I see the following:

    1) capture one (2)

    2) capture one

    3) P1.C1.PluginHostProcess

all three tasks require 0,1% of the CPU. While trying to import files 2) and 3) use approx 4 % of the CPU.

    1) and 2) each 3 GB of RAM (I have 64 GB)

    3) doesn't use any RAM.

While I started to write this I also tried to import files. It's still "loading" or whatever it does.

I am not able to read the "log files", unfortunately.

C1 21 worked perfectly for me previously. The latest 14.01 update broke the import process for me in the same way. RAM usage maxes out at 64GB (Windows 10) and then returns to normal once I close the import window. Serious problem.

    Serious problem

So have you raised a support case?

Same problem here - in the most cases the import windows stucks, shows no pictures in a folder full of pictures, etc...

The only solution is closing Capture One and open it again. Than it works for the next time.

    Please fix this bug!

Similar problem when importing new RAW-pictures from card in existing catalogue (created in CO 12, also used in CO 20) or from harddisk in sessions created under CO 20 and CO21: Function "exclude duplicate"  freezes capture one completely even if I stopped the import. Once the program stopped when 14 dupclicates were found, then at 0, another time at 1.

Now I tried importing pictures with deactivated "exclude duplicate" and the import worked normaly. But that is no solution, because for me (and surely most of the other catalogue users) "exclude duplicate" is a significant function.

Formerly never a problem with my tunes HP Z2 Workstation (Win 10).
