Does anyone know what the grey number in the rgb color readout stand for ?

    The value displayed in grey is the luminosity, independent of color channel, at the place in the image you're pointing to with your mouse or other device. Might be helpful to imagine the image in black-and-white. The number in grey reports the luminosity at any given point.
