Import from LrC to C1(21) is not working

I looked at the Capture Event Log and for each file it stated "Could not import the image because the format is not supported".   I have tried JPEG and NEF formats with no luck.

I have looked at the Capture One Videos for Migrating from LR to Capture.

I have reviewed the Capture One - How to Import a LR Catalog

I checked the supported formats and obviously JPEG and NEF are supported formats.

    Please any suggestions?  Thank you.

I submitted a "request" on the same day and am getting zero response.  What is Phase One, Capture One's normal response time?  I am just glad I am not completely down....    I do not see any other way to contact customer service ...

Any suggestions would be great... thank you..

Which "flavour" of Capture One are you using? A Manufacturer specific flavour or the full Pro version?

Did you get an email acknowledgement of your request and a Case number?

If so be sure to check the case for any updates and perhaps use it to send further communications if you have not already done so.

Meanwhile perhaps some other users with LR import experience can chime in.

If you got an e-mail acknowledging the support request, try replying to it to remind them you're still waiting for an answer? I'd have expected a reply within 3 working days to be honest.

I cant help with your query re importing a LR catalog as I limit imports to C1 to what I need whilst keeping a LR catalog too.

    Carl,

In the Release Notes (any and every release so any release not document will do) is a section that identifies file limitations. It would be worth checking that against the files you cannot import - i.e. size, dimensions, non-RGB colour space, etc.

Assuming that would not account for all of the problems even if a few images are disqualified, the next question would be whether the NEF files are of a type that has some sort of special handling at capture - and therefore may not be supported - or have been previously edited by some other application - e.g. adding a Nikon Style perhaps or changing some aspect of the file in another way. C1 policy is to only work with what we might think of as genuine all original files. It's difficult to be more specific than that. I have no specific experiences of working with LR and importing or of  NEF files. The file type message seems odd. I wonder if it really relates to something else as the problem but manifests itself as a "file type problem" message?

C1 imports NEF files quite happily and will strip any in camera settings you may be applying which are only applicable to Nikon NX-D & View NX software. Adobe does exactly the same thing when importing NEFs.

My only other suggestion at this time is how many files are in the LR catalog you're trying to import? If its several hundred or more, try with just a handful initially. C1 quickly starts to suffer indigestion with large numbers of big files being thrown at it.

    Thanks again guys.. Good ideas.

I have only used LR, nothing else and all original files (edited by LR of course). I will read the release notes.  I have read the list of supported formats.

I am just trying the import with a very small number of files and actually I planned to stage to small temporary LR Catalogs containing a few folders worth at a time.  Then to small temporary C1 catalogs.. Once I edit and check out the temp C1 catalog, I planned to import them into a Master C1 catalog.

I will post separate or research but I wanted to ask of a Master C1 Catalog can handle 60K+ files. I actually have been using sessions since I switched to Capture which have been working great.
