Importing Pictures

C1 v21 changed the importing image language. It's confusing.

What is the correct option if I do not want the images imported into my catalog, but left where they are?

The closes choice says "Add to Catalog"—but I don't want the images added anywhere, only access given.

    You are right, that was a bit confusing for me, too. It ist the first option of the select field. I have the german version so my best guess in english for this is "Add to the catalogue".

    Hope this helps.

    Add to Catalog.  When using that option you are not putting images inside the catalog, you are informing Capture One that the images exist and their location.  The catalog is also where edits and metadata is stored.

    Images can also be moved into the Catalog but I get the impression that few do that.

    Or you can use Sessions instead of the catalog.

    By the way, do I need to wait until all thumbnails are showing in C1 before importing, or can I select Import All immediately?
