Capture 20 - Blur when switching to another image
in CO 20 when I switch (change) to another image during the editing process I often have the next image blur in the larger preview and in the thumbnails. As I toggle to other images they are blurred as well. Only when I shut down CO a couple times does it come back normal where the images stay sharp in both the larger preview and thumbnails. This is annoying. I'm using win 7 Pro 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Jaz

Jaz,
If this happens all of the time one thing to consider is how large the Preview file is by comparison with your screen resolution.
The usual recommendation is that the Preview size you set for the pre-processed Viewer files is best set to something very close to the maximum standard screen resolution of your device.
If the Preview file is set a lot smaller then it is likely that all previews will need to be recalculated every time before display.
Similarly if it is set very large compared to the display C1 may need to re-processed from the original file to the reduced size available for the display.
If you already know all about that then tell us a little more to see if we can come up whit any ideas that you have not yet considered.

This preview image and thumbnail "blur" does not happen all the time - maybe 30% of the time.Your information is new to me - Thanks but I have been using CO for a longggggggggggg time and there wasn't this problem before this version and the last version. My preview is 1920 px which is the native resolution of my Eizo ColorEdge CE240W so I think I'm pretty set in that regard if I read you correctly. I'm viewing usually at 50% maganification and the files are on a local HD.
My video card (NVidia GeForce GTX 660) seems decent since I have no problems in PS CS6 or the earlier versions of CO.
Does this help with any other possibilities? Thanks in advance for any help. - Jaz

Hi Jaz,
If you are are habitually adding 50% zoom to the preview you are very likely to be hitting the point at which C1 needs to recalculate the results to improve the resolution being displayed to the quality that people normally expect.
Up to a point a slightly increased or decreased image size can be presented using the pre-prepared preview file but at around 50%, base on my experience, C1 will recalculate starting with the original source file - i.e. for most of us the RAW file or a DNG or a TIFF.
You could confirm this by creating a small set of files with the preview setting in preferences set to a larger number and then observe what happens when working with those images.
The less attractive side to this is that larger files would take up more storage space.
