sudden full session reset

I'm running Capture one 21 on a Mac with Big Sur.11.2.1

I was editing my new session had all my ratings doe and editing downs the images when suddenly the whole session reset itself, now I lost all the edits and all the ratings.

No idea what happened, there was no command to undo, it just reset itself.

Any thought on this?

  It's not something I have ever seen reported or discussed previously.

   

  Have you checked to see if the subfolders (and contents) still exist?

  All content still exists, but even the deleted photos appeared back on the capture folder and in the session sequence. I started again to do it over again and has not happened again but it was very strange.

  Is it possible that you opened an older version of the Session file (I am assuming that you are using a Session and not a Catalog based on your original post). Do you have any automated backup policy applied?

  If you are actually using a Catalog do you have backup processes for the catalogs?

  Possible anomalies in those areas of operation should be checked first, I would suggest.
