Locked for editing / ICC-Profile
Processing of a image is locked in Capture One 20. I found no way to change any settings in Capture One, all slider were blocked (grey).
The Picture was importet with the Mac Image Capture App and a Canon Coolscan 9000F Scanner. The import settings: b/w with 256 Greyscale. That wil show a ICC-Profile in the file: "From File (Generic Gray Gamma 2.2 Profile)"
Solution: New Scan with setting "color" in the Mac Image Capture App, or remove the profile from the file with another software (e.g. Nikon ViewNX-i). That wil show "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" as profile. And anything works fine.

Just for reference should future visitors discover this thread ...
There are (at the time of writing) a few long time documented limitations related to specific file types and sizes documented in the Release Notes and probably elsewhere in the on-line documentation and FAQ articles.
In the event that an image is visible but all editing options are greyed out it is often a good idea to check the attributes of the file to see if it matches any of the constraints listed.
I believe in the case mentioned above it is also possible to open the existing grayscale image in another editor and simply re-save it with RGB rather than grey-scale attributes.

Even more simply, if you want to edit a greyscale file, use the "edit with" option and specify RGB. C1 will convert it to RGB and you can then just close the other application and you'll have a colour version of the file in your catalogue.
I've asked C1 to provide access to a straight conversion tool within C1, but it has fallen on deaf ears.
