Help ghosting of previously edited images appearing

Hello, a new C1 user, I have the fuji pro 21 version and am struggling to find out why I appear to have the ghosting of previously edited images appearing on a current image edit, this first appeared when I used the gradient filter on an image, the previous image appeared in an outline below it.   Additionally when I crop an image, it looks OK but when I click on another tool to confirm the crop, this ghosting off previously edited images appears, if I click back on the crop tool again, they disappear??

I have looked online to try and find out what I am doing wrong, or whether I need to disable/enable particular settings, but cannot find an answer to this, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

(I am using a MacBook Pro with Big Sur )

    I would try turning off hardware acceleration in Preferences to see whether that makes a difference.
