Drew, just to confirm that you are actually working in a Session?

If so all of the edit data, etc., are held locally to the files.

The session file just offers some grouping and management of the files. Plus Album definitions and so on.

    Two options to consider.

You could try the Verify procedure if you have not already done so.

Or you could simply create a new session that connects to the existing folders containing the images in the original session and see what results you get there.

If the session file is the problem the new session should have all of the edits.

If there is something awry with an edit file somewhere (extremely rare but not impossible since there is always such a risk with a computer system) then it may be that some form of the problem could re-appear although if it does it should be readily traceable in the log file or simply by what happens and when.

The log files may give you a clue about what is currently happening  - assuming you are comfortable looking at such documents and trying to interpret them.

"Verify" allows me to repair the file then it does nothing, stays broken.

I created a new session and opened the files.  Then that session crashes on shutdown just like the other.

Figuring now its the files somehow.  I'm just going to re import all the files and start over.  At this point I've spent more time trying to fix them than the weeks I spent editing.
