Tethering speed excruciatingly slow after continuous shooting

I have issues with tethering speeds. I shoot on a canon r5 and when I start shooting the images they come through within a second. After about an hour or so of shooting the photos come through once every 10-20 seconds at worst, taking that full time to render the preview, which can lead to images coming through up to 10 minutes after shooting them. This is completely unusable with clients. I would like to know how to fix it, is my MacBook not powerful enough, I checked and it meets the recommended requirements. Or is this a software issue. I have tried shooting just low res jpegs and that seems to work a lot better. But I need to be shooting RAW. I have a MacBook Pro 2017, 2.9ghz quad core intel i7, with 16gb memory, intel HD graphics 630 1536 mb graphics. I have recently restored my Mac and everything is up to date including capture one.

Natasha, me too. please let me know if you find a solution. After using a session for about an hour, it runs 10 to 15 photos behind in previewing. Before October 2020 I never had this problem. Once the session has more that a few hundred photos it runs sloooowly forever even after shutting down computer etc. I have a 2015 i5 , a 2018 i7 and a 2020 i9 Mac book pros with various memories and graphics cards and CO21 does not run better or worse on any of them!

Clients are bitting their tongue!

Ivano, I believe I have solved the problem by unfortunately buying a new MacBook computer with the best specs. With the help of others I worked out the 16gb of ram memory was not enough for capture one. I have since upgraded to 64GB and from my test it is a lot quicker and keeps up. I also chose the best graphics card for Mac so that helps too. What was the ram of your macs, I wonder if it’s the same problem.
