Plug the camera in for what purpose?

    Downloading files or using tethering?

Tethering mate; I was doing an e-commerce photo shoot.

Thing is the usb cable, camera and so on worked fine (I finally did the job with the old laptop). So again, this is a computer or software (in-pc) issue.

    Thanks!

A very basic question but it should still be asked.

Have you checked that the Preferences file has Sony checked as an option for tethered use?

When you say the borrowed Laptop does not recognise the camera - does it see it as a mass storage device or is that also not working?

Yeah, I have checked the camera settings are it's all fine (remember I use the same camera with a different laptop and it works fine).

In this borrowed laptop the camera is not recognized well I think when I connect it in tethered mode; when I connect it as mass storage it works fine like any USB, HDD, etc. but in this mode the computer says "unkown device". I can find it in the control board so the system is recognizing it somehow, but I can't access to it in any way. Also I can't remove it with security and so on.

So I think this is a Sony-Laptop problem that I have noticed using Capture One but not a Capture One issue itself. Still, I need the help ahah
