Moved my catalog on my PC and now its destroyed.
Hello All, I am using C1 version 12 and I had my catalog on my PC in:
Photography>capture one>2020 catalog
I then moved it to (literally I dragged and dropped it from the first location to the one below)
Pictures>2020 image archive (where it sits amongst folder of images that the catalog references (these are film scans that I import onto my computer and just reference in C1)
Now the images are all showing as the triangle with the exclamation mark. I tried moving it back to where it was, I tried the locate function, I tried renaming a folder and moving it there and pointing capture one to it, nothing is working. I made a support ticket, got some very basic advice pointing me to articles or that I should just rename the parent folder. I did all that. To top it off C1 now keeps crashing my computer...what the heck do I do here? my catalog is small, only 477 images but they're in a bunch of different folders being referenced which I think is the issue...
Every time I try to locate a backed up version of the catalog nothing ends up happening....
Please help, I wanted to move my 2018, 2019 and 2020 catalogs to external drives for backup, etc and now they have all come to this point, and I am scared going forward. I know I should have moved them WITHIN C1, but its too late for that now and I need help fixing the problem.

The best way is to use a backup from the old computer and restore it on the new one. 3 copies of your media files on your system drive and they could all be destroyed iMessage PC the catalog from my 2018 backup file that I had moved to my new PC. so I contacted them again today to help me convert the catalog.

Not sure I understand what you're saying.
I have tried everything with the help of C1 support and the catalog seems to be unrecoverable for whatever reason.

check to see if you moved only the catalog file ".cocatalogdb" or you moved the entire directory that contains the catalog. The entire directory includes important files in the Adjustments, Cache, and Originals directories. You need all of those files or your catalog will be corrupt.
you could also make a copy of the catalog and then do File->Verify Catalog and when it says it found errors you can tell it to repair the catalog. I've had mixed success with it but it's worth a try. I have a feeling that won't do much but who knows.
The C1 catalog is just a SQL Lite database - nothing fancy. If you feel like looking at the catalog database to see what C1 has done to you, you can download a free tool called "DB Browser for SQLite" from the internet. There are other tools like it as well; I tried this particular one and it worked for me. You can explore the database to see file paths for files in your catalog and the relationships between files. I've only used it readonly, but I think it is capable of writing to the database as well. Make sure you have a backup of your catalog file before doing anything. I don't know if this will help but maybe it could give you some clues to what C1 has done to you.
