Increase number of layers from 16 to 32 or more and/or Merge layers

With a complicated image, the limit of 16 layers can be a problem. At least 32 would be helpful.

Or provide the ability to merge layers of like function.

  I support the request for more layers.

  However, "merging layers" would not be in the spirit of non-destructive editing, as it wouldn't be possible to easily revisit earlier editing choices.

  I support the request for more layers.
  Before Style Brushes it wasn't an issue to me, but now I am using lots of layers.

  Even an increase to 24 would be helpful, but 32 would make a big difference. I absolutely support this feature request.

  i support this

  i am stuck with work i cannot apply to my images

  that's a real downside

  you spend hours working on images and cannot apply to others.... what's the point ?
