Photographer's Notes Tool

We would like to see a “photographer notes” tool added as a feature in Capture One.

This tool could allow you to store information in any original or variant in the catalog, including those variants created for different output purposes. For example, a ‘Notes' tool might contain info on the ICC profile used for a print or which papers were used and the outcomes. It might also be used to store comments about the development choices made. WIthout a tool of this type in Capture One, you can keep physical notes or a log but these aren't tied to the digital photo.

I know you can use IPTC description fields for such purposes, but the fields on the Metadata tool are not very convenient to access for entering information and are even worse for later referral. A dedicated “notes” field could be added as a separate tool in the dropdown list of tools so that it could be located wherever the photographer’s needs.

The tool design could be simple (plain text and basic formatting only) or could have more advanced options such as text formatting and support for tables to add value to the tool. This topic has been discussed in the CO forums so there is some interest for such a feature in the larger community.
